Development Application

A new build to an elevated, virgin site at North Avalon with expansive views out over Avalon Beach to the South as well as Pittwater and the National Park beyond.

The design looks to mitigate it’s verticality by terracing down the steep site with horizontal planes disappearing into the landscape. Generously planted roofs ensure that the built forms are softened from critical view aspects.

Serving as both a screen to the Western sun as well as dynamic element in the facade composition, a bronze mesh external curtain is draped over the Bedroom level glazing.

Internally, the design captures the clients desires for a contemporary take on mid-century modern ideals, with split levels and built-in furnishing taking centre stage.
